From Portugal to Italy – My LdV experience

My adventure began on September 7, 2014, the day I left to Italy, the city of Padua. This experience occurred in the XPTO III Project – EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES, under LEONARDO DA VINCI programm (former ERSMUS +)

The motivations that led me to participate in a mobility experience was the fact that it is extremely rewarding in many ways, not only personally, but also professional. Was an asset to academic and professional level. Living together in another country with another culture and students from various countries make the exchange becomes attractive. You end up developing and numerous new skills, intra and interpersonal, and you get a great self.

With regard to the reception stage, this was exceptional. The whole team, without exception, supported me in order to integrate me as soon as possible, either in the structure of the Association, either in the new reality in which it was inserted. In a great atmosphere of these was impossible, have not been able to establish excellent interpersonal relations, not only with colleagues, and with the team of volunteers, users (adults, youth and children).

Also managed to make new friends, which are for life and were very important for my integration process had elapsed in the best possible way.

Mobility lasted 3 months. At the end of that period, I was told it would be an asset, can join the organization of the team. However and due to the difficulties faced by all associations, in times of crisis, this integration was not possible.

After that, I returned to Portugal, with the expectation of the possibility of getting new work proposals. I feel that my resume and professional profile greatly benefited from this experience, in that it allowed me to integration in another social and labor fabric, contact with other social, culture, mentality, different habits and customs. Regard to employment was very enriching in that it allowed me to learn a new school system, and direct contact with integration and reception Immigrants policies. This experience allowed me to assess more closely the reality of immigration and the impact this phenomenon has on the social fabric as well as the difficulties and obstacles associated with him.

Advise and encourage all young people who apply for the Leonardo da Vinci program, is an adventure that allows you to open the door to Europe, open your mind to Europe … new habits, new climate, mentality, and different customs. Allows you to also experience the experience of sharing and experience with other members, which in my case are Friends for Life !!!! It also allows you to experience an immigrant experience, which allows growth to cope with obstacles and difficulties a change of life, as this may cause. Although three months is a short time, you learn HIGHLY with this experience. Besides being a major challenge Professional, so is the level of course and enrichment Personal and Cultural.

A minha aventura começou no dia 7 de Setembro de 2014, dia em que parti com destino a Itália, à cidade de Pádua. Esta experiência ocorreu no âmbito do Projecto XPTO III – EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES,  ao abrigo do PROGRAMA LEONARDO DA VINCI (Antiguo ERASMUS+).

As motivações que me levaram a participar numa experiência de mobilidade foi o facto de ser algo extremamente enriquecedor em diversos aspectos, não somente a nível pessoal, mas também profissional. Foi uma mais-valia a nível académico e profissional. A convivência em outro país, com uma outra cultura e com estudantes de diversos países fazem com que o intercâmbio se torne aliciante. Acaba-se por se desenvolver inúmeras e novas habilidades, intra e interpessoais, e obtém-se um grande autoconhecimento.

No que respeita ao acolhimento de estágio, este foi excepcional. Toda a equipa sem excepção, apoiou-me com o objectivo de me integrar o mais rapidamente possível, quer na estrutura da Associação, quer na nova realidade em que estava inserida. Num ambiente excelente destes era impossível, não ter conseguido estabelecer excelentes relações interpessoais, não só com os colegas, como com a equipa de colaboradores voluntários, utentes (adultos, jovens e crianças). Consegui também fazer novas amizades, que ficam para a vida e que foram muito importantes para que o meu processo de integração, tivesse decorrido da melhor forma possível. 

A mobilidade teve a duração de 3 meses. No final esse período, foi-me dito que seria uma mais-valia, poder integrar a equipa da organização. No entanto e devido às dificuldades com que se deparam todas as associações, em tempo de crise, esta integração, não foi possível. Após este período, voltei para Portugal, com a expectativa que surja a possibilidade de conseguir novas propostas de trabalho.

Sinto que o meu  currículo e perfil profissional beneficiaram muitíssimo com esta experiência, na medida em que me possibilitou a integração num outro tecido social e laboral, o contacto com outra realidade social, cultura, mentalidade, hábitos e costumes diferentes. Ao nível laboral foi muito enriquecedora no sentido em que me possibilitou a aprendizagem de um novo sistema escolar, e o contacto directo com políticas de integração e acolhimento de Imigrantes. Esta experiência, permitiu-me avaliar de uma forma mais próxima a realidade da Imigração e o impacto deste fenómeno tem no tecido social, bem como as dificuldades e obstáculos que lhe estão associadas.

Aconselho e incentivo todos os jovens que se candidatem ao Programa Leonardo da Vinci, é uma aventura que te permite abrir a Porta para a Europa, abrir a tua Mente para a Europa…novos hábitos, novo clima, mentalidade, e costumes diferentes. Permite-te também vivenciar a experiência da partilha e vivência com outros companheiros, que no meu caso serão Amigos para a Vida!!!! Além disso, permite-te vivenciar uma experiência de Imigrante, que permite um crescimento perante os obstáculos e dificuldades que uma mudança de vida, como esta pode acarretar. Apesar de 3 meses ser pouco tempo, aprende-se MUITÍSSIMO, com esta experiência. Para além de ser um grande desafio Profissional, também o é ao nível de percurso e enriquecimento Pessoal e Cultural.
