MALTA – A real life experience

Malta has been my home for three months, and now that I’m ready to go back to Italy I know that I will leave here a piece of my heart. It has been an unforgettable experience: exciting, funny, tiring sometimes, challenging. It gave me the chance to prove myself, both on the human and professional side, managing time, requirements and not only my needs, but of the people who have shared with me all of the moments here, at home and at work. I found extraordinary people, true friends that I know they will keep in touch even if live hundreds of miles away. As in any situation, the negative aspects are not missed, especially in the work place: it has been not very challenging and in line with my expectations and my attitudes. At the same time, however, gave me the opportunity to acquire new skills and to understand what items will need to focus my research work, both in Italy and/or abroad. I highly recommend everyone to life an experience like this: it helps to grow, to improve ourselves, to respect others, to know reality, ways of seeing and doing things from another point of view. I am leaving happy and sad at the same time. It has been an unique experience, I know that it will not be repeated, and in its uniqueness I am proud to have lived it.

Malta è stata la mia casa per 3 mesi, e adesso pronta a tornare in Italia so che lascerò qui un pezzo del mio cuore. E’ stata un’esperienza che sicuramente non dimenticherò: emozionante, divertente, faticosa a volte, stimolante. Mi ha dato la possibilità di mettermi alla prova, sia a livello umano che professionale, gestendo tempi, esigenze e bisogni non solo miei, ma delle persone che hanno condiviso con me questo percorso, a casa e a lavoro. Ho avuto dei compagni di viaggio straordinari, dei veri amici che so continueranno ad esserci anche vivendo a centinaia di chilometri di distanza. Come in ogni situazione, gli aspetti negativi non sono mancati, soprattutto nel campo lavorativo: si è rivelato poco stimolante e in linea con le mie aspettative e le mie attitudini. Allo stesso tempo però mi ha dato la possibilità di acquisire nuove competenze e di capire in che ambito dovrà concentrarsi la mia ricerca di lavoro, che sia in Italia o in un nuovo Stato estero. Consiglio vivamente a tutti di vivere un’esperienza come questa: aiuta a crescere, a migliorarsi, a rispettare gli altri, a conoscere realtà, modi di vedere e fare le cose da un altro punto di vista. Torno a casa felice, e triste allo stesso tempo. Perchè è stata un’esperienza unica, che so non si ripeterà, e nella sua unicità sono fiera di averla vissuta.
