My name is Sophie and I am from England. I had an amazing ten weeks in Bordeaux thanks to the Leonardo Programme. I experienced living with a French family which helped me learn a lot about French culture and enabled me to improve my level of spoken French. Bordeaux is a beautiful city and there was always something interesting to see or do.
It was great to be able to make friends with other like-minded people from England, Ireland, Spain and Portugal who were on the program and to explore the city and region together.
For my internship I worked in a hotel for eight weeks and I found the work very interesting and challenging. I learned many new skills and gained a lot of confidence. This program has been really useful for me and I am so glad I decided to apply for the program as I have experienced a different way of life, met some lovely people and had a lot of fun!

Je m’appelle Sophie et je viens d’Angleterre. J’ai passé dix semaines fantastiques à Bordeaux grâce au programme Leonardo. J’ai eu l’expérience de vivre avec une famille française ce qui a fait en sorte de m’enseigner beaucoup sur la culture française et m’a permis d’améliorer mon niveau de français parlé. Bordeaux est une belle ville et il y avait toujours quelque chose d’intéressant à faire ou à voir. C’était génial de me faire des amis avec des stagiaires anglais, irlandaises, espagnols et portugaises du même esprit que moi et de visiter la ville et la région avec eux. Pour mon stage j’ai travaillé dans un hôtel pendant huit semaines et j’ai trouvé le travail très intéressant et il répresentait un défi pour moi. J’ai appris bien de nouvelles compétences et j’ai obtenu beaucoup plus de confiance en moi. Ce programme a été très utile pour moi et je suis contente d’avoir postulé au programme puisque j’ai connu une différente façon de vivre, j’ai rencontré des personnes gentilles et je me suis bien amusée!
