After almost a year unemployed and being 31 years old, after having made some formation courses and having barely worked two months in summer time, I met a scholarship call that suited me and I realized it was an opportunity to increase my professional career and, above all, do something different and relevant personally. The opportunity to learn new working skills and the possibility to know a new language and to live an experience abroad got me to participate in a mobility experience.
Since I have come back from Lisbon I have not stopped studying Portuguese and looking for a job, even though I’m doing this from Asturias, because I want to go to Portugal again. I even went back there to be interview in a possible future job for me. I have still many friends over there; I have even maintained the relationship with some former work colleagues. The most important thing, though, is that I have realized many things for my life, things that I hadn’t realized yet. Deciding to change some of the aspects of my life that I think I couldn’t have done it without the experience of being able to go on improving in different directions. Working in another country, with another language, gives you the opportunity to develop new skills and capabilities to be able, then, to get a new job, and also to increase the added value of your resume.
Synthetizing, my Lisbon experience was innovating, complementary for the initial formation and enriching personally.

Después de casi un año en paro, y con 31 años cumplidos; tras realizar varios cursos de formación y apenas trabajar durante dos meses de verano, al conocer la convocatoria considere que era una oportunidad de poder ampliar mi carrera profesional y, sobre todo, de hacer algo diferente y relevante para mí en el ámbito personal. La oportunidad de adquirir nuevas capacidades laborales, y sobre todo, la posibilidad de conocer un nuevo idioma y vivir la experiencia de vivir en otro país fue lo que me llevó a participar en la experiencia de movilidad.
Desde que regresé de Lisboa no he dejado de estudiar portugués, y de buscar trabajo, aunque sea desde Asturias, para poder regresar. Incluso he vuelto para hacer una entrevista de trabajo en espera de que más adelante puedan tener en cuenta mi candidatura. Guardo amistades allí, he incluso sigo teniendo relación con algunas compañeras del trabajo. Pero lo más importante es que he tomado conciencia de muchas cosas de mi vida, que hasta ese momento no les había dado importancia. Decidir cambiar aspectos de mi vida que creo que no me hubiese atrevido sin la experiencia de que podemos avanzar en diferentes direcciones por nosotros mismos. A nivel profesional, el trabajar en otro país y con otro idioma, te ayuda a desarrollar nuevas capacidades y competencias laborales, importantes a la hora de desarrollar un nuevo empleo. Además de ampliar el curriculum vitae.
En resumen, la experiencia en Lisboa fue: Innovadora, complementaria de la formación inicial y enriquecedora a nivel personal.
