Great opportunity to learn something new

Name: Mateusz Hajda

Country of origin of the beneficiary: Poland

Country in which s/he realized the mobility project: North Ireland

Type of mobility (professional, education, volunteering, non formal training/adult training, youth exchanges): Erasmus +

I took part in a mobility experience because I want to improve my English. I also want to meet new people and I would like to know something about their culture.

Although I would love to have stayed in Ireland, I returned to Poland as I have not yet completed my studies. The mobility project has helped me feel confident about working abroad in the future, so maybe I will come back to Derry someday.

I’m more confident now with talking in English. I also got some new work experience. My personal skills have developed as well as my professional skills. It was nice to see how other people live and feel part of a family in another culture.

Yes, because I can see a lot of common things in different cultures. I feel much more independent, self-sufficient and feel much more like a European citizen as I have experienced another culture, something which I have never done before.

Of course I would because it’s great opportunity to learn something new, and go to new country.  I advise other people to try it, even if it is outside your comfort zone, because that’s the only way to learn.
